Christmas tree hunting!

Us city folks went out today to find us our own tree to cut down! It was a real outing. We went with two other families from the street. When we got to the farm in NJ they let us loose in a field to find a tree. On the drive to the back field one of the cars that was with us got a flat tire. So the men set to work on that and the women and children went tree hunting. It took about an hour for us to find trees that everyone liked. Luckily Mayson did not have an opinion or it probably would have taken another hour.

My one prerequisite for a tree was that it HAD to have strong branches. Well after looking at well over 200 trees we ended up with a tree with the WEAKEST branches I have ever seen, but the tree looked SO fun to me that I had to have it. Although, when Kevin saw it he said "That's the worst tree I've ever seen!" and then he set off to find a better one. But they were pretty expensive and there weren't that many trees in our price range so he came back to the tree that I picked out and agreed that it did look fun. So we got it for a whopping $30!

We got the tree home, decorated it and looked at it and the only word that comes to mind when I look at it is DEFUNCT. I guess the good thing is that Mayson is too little to realize.
